WE ARE...

Community Arts Mentorship Program is a non-profit in Saskatchewan dedicated to procuring arts experiences, mentorship, and training opportunities in remote and under-served communities across the province. We believe expression through the arts strengthens community, inter-generational connection, culture and sense of identity, increases self-esteem and confidence and provides leadership opportunities.

Community Arts Mentorship Program Logo

The genesis of the community arts mentorship program emerged from the bond between Eliza Doyle and Holly Rae Yuzicapi, both deeply affected by a local mental health crisis. Their initial dialogue aimed at offering support and enhancing community well-being. Symbolized by Eliza's bowler trailer and Holly's tipi during their inaugural campout in the Qu’Appelle valley, the logo's colors reflect the natural elements and cycles of life, encapsulating the essence of the program's mission to promote well-being through artistic expression. This logo embodies a way of life for all involved, fostering opportunities for growth and learning within the Community Arts Mentorship Program.

OUR MISSION

COLLABORATIVE & SUPPORTIVE

MENTORSHIP TO INDEPENDENCE

Through Artist Residencies and Full-Time Arts Teachers, we support communities until local capacity is secured, and arts programming is delivered locally. We will continue to provide on-going support for communities, and will provide mentorship and training when necessary.

We are committed to creating meaningful relationships through Cultural Consultations. These consultations guide residencies and identify which art practices best fit the communities needs through drawing on the strengths of their own membership.

OUR VISION

Engaging under-served & remote Saskatchewan communities in music, arts and cultural programming for self-expression, healthy identity-formation, healing & reconciliation with a focus on supporting and building local capacity through mentorship & training opportunities.
